Drawing and Painting: Surrealism

After developing the technical drawing skills of 1- and 2-point perspective, the Drawing and Painting students were ready to show some creativity. Looking at examples of surrealist painters such as Salvador Dali, Renee Magritte, and Max Ernst, the students created their own surrealist landscapes with acrylic paint on paper. The requirements of the project were to utilize either 1- or 2-point perspective, use a pair of complementary colors, and incorporate gradients. The students produced some amazing artwork!
