Art 9: Clay Food

Mmm...to finish the semester, Art 9 sculpted some of their favorite treats out of clay using at least one of the three techniques we explored: coil, slab, and hollow out. Their goal was to make the final product look so tantalizing that anyone might believe it is the real thing!

Sculpture: Abstract Human Forms in Plaster

Inspired by the work of Henry Moore, students created a dynamic human figure out of plaster. Students abstracted the human form to simplify and exaggerate the act of motion.

Studio 1: Self-Portraits

To end the semester, the Studio 1 class synthesized the drawing and painting skills developed throughout the semester and created self-portraits. They researched three portrait artists - Vincent van Gogh, Frida Kahlo, and Chuck Close - and choose one artist's style to work in.
