Art 9: Compositional Photography

The Art 9 students began learning how to consciously compose their artwork through two different projects. The first began with basic photography and Adobe Photoshop skills. Students were asked to take photos in five different techniques: eye level, directional emphasis, rule of thirds, framing, and even spread. Then they adjusted their work in Photoshop to create final compelling compositions.

Outdoor Activity Day

On February 29, the Senior School took classes outside. The Art Department offered students a chance to sketch landscapes. Twenty-three students and four staff headed out to Benog Tibba, a hilltop near Everest House and Cloud's End. The hike is fairly easy and the views are great - you can see the Doon Valley, the Mussoorie ridge, and the snow-capped Himalaya. (Photos courtesy Phuriwat C.)

Art 9: Still-life Drawings with Designs

Grade 9 began the semester with drawing from real life. They drew a still-life and then added their own designs to complete the picture.
