Art 9: Compositional Photography

The Art 9 students began learning how to consciously compose their artwork through two different projects. The first began with basic photography and Adobe Photoshop skills. Students were asked to take photos in five different techniques: eye level, directional emphasis, rule of thirds, framing, and even spread. Then they adjusted their work in Photoshop to create final compelling compositions.

Studio 1: Monsoon Oil

After creating observational watercolor paintings of monsoon plants, the Studio 1 class used their watercolor compositions as a basis for their next paintings - oil on canvas.  The students studied Georgia O'Keeffe and created abstracted oil paintings in her style.
