Studio 1: Art Exhibit

The Studio 1 class has produced some excellent artwork this year, so it was about time to see it exhibited. The gallery was set up to feature 3 projects the class completed: Serial Object series, Printmaking for Social Change, and the Self Portraits. We had an opening reception on Friday afternoon and the show was a hit.

Grade 7: Madhubani Paintings (Color)

After finishing the black and white Madhubani paintings, the Grade 7s created colored paintings on brown paper. This time, the theme was people.

The Grade 7 classes studied Madhubani paintings. These folk paintings come from Bihar and are traditionally painted onto walls. The students created black and white paintings on the theme of plants and animals.

Drawing and Painting: Surrealist Painting

The Drawing and Painting class finally ventured into the realm of painting! For the first painting project, they were asked to synthesize their understanding of perspective with a new knowledge of paint mixing to create a surrealist painting.
